Free MT CDL Tanker Vehicles Practice Test 2024

Tanker drivers are in high demand in Montana. Here, you’ll find plenty of opportunities with a Tank Vehicles (N) endorsement, which is required for driving vehicles designed to transport liquid or gaseous materials in tanks that are either permanently or temporarily attached to the vehicle. Specifically, this endorsement is required for vehicles with individual tanks of more than 119 gallons and a combined capacity of 1,000 gallons or more.

The Bakken Formation is a massive underground rock unit rich in oil and natural gas. It occupies the eastern part of Montana, representing a significant source of oil production for the state. Aspiring tanker drivers might also want to obtain a HazMat (H) endorsement on their Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), which is necessary for transporting crude oil and other hazardous materials. Together, the “N” and “H” endorsements are represented on your CDL by the “X” endorsement, which is a highly valued qualification that makes you stand out in this market.

To obtain these two endorsements, you must pass their respective written knowledge tests. They consist of 20 questions based on the official 2024 CDL manual (Montana CDL Handbook 2024), which is an essential educational resource. To maximize your chances of passing this test, we recommend expanding your horizons and adopting a smarter approach to your learning journey.

Train on our Montana CDL Tanker Vehicles endorsement practice test before you show up at the MVD location for the official exam. Updated for December 2024, these practice tests can make the difference between mastering this material and struggling to understand the various concepts of tankers. While it was initially designed to resemble the official Tank Vehicles knowledge exam, this tool can also be used for educational purposes.

After selecting an answer, pay attention to the immediate feedback before you continue to the next question. This feedback contains a detailed explanation that can help students who are still in their learning phase. We recommend disregarding your score during your first few attempts. Instead, try to memorize the correct answers to help reinforce your understanding of this subject.
